The Quiet Seed Who Changed the Garden

 In a beautiful garden, many seeds were planted together. There were sunflower seeds, rose seeds, and mango seeds. They all talked excitedly underground. “I will grow very tall,” said the sunflower seed. “I will have beautiful flowers,” said the rose seed. One tiny seed stayed quiet. His name was Milo . Milo was very small. He did not know what he would become. “I am too tiny,” Milo thought. “No one will notice me.” Days passed. The gardener watered the soil every morning. Slowly, the seeds began to grow. The sunflower grew tall. The rose grew bright flowers. Milo grew too—but he stayed close to the ground. One hot afternoon, the sun became very strong. The soil started to dry. The big plants began to bend. Milo spread his small green leaves wide. They covered the soil and kept it cool. Because of Milo, the soil stayed wet.                        The Stork and the Crab An  old stork  lived by the side of a  fish pond . He was too old to catch fish anymore, so he had to come up with a plan to get food. Suddenly, he had a  wicked idea . He stood in the water with a  sad face . Seeing him, a  kind crab  crawled up and asked, “Why do you look so sad?” The stork sighed and said, “I’ve heard that this pond is going to dry up soon! I have to fly away to another pond to survive.” The crab, feeling  worried , asked the stork to  help save the fish  and other creatures in the pond as well. The stork  pretended to be kind  and agreed. He told the fish, “I will carry you to a new pond, one by one, in my beak.” Every day, the stork would take a couple of fish in his beak and  fly away . But instead of taking them to another pond, he would  fly far away, land in a secret spot, and eat them! ...
