The stork and the crab

                      The Stork and the Crab

An old stork lived by the side of a fish pond. He was too old to catch fish anymore, so he had to come up with a plan to get food. Suddenly, he had a wicked idea.

He stood in the water with a sad face. Seeing him, a kind crab crawled up and asked,

“Why do you look so sad?”

The stork sighed and said,

“I’ve heard that this pond is going to dry up soon! I have to fly away to another pond to survive.”

The crab, feeling worried, asked the stork to help save the fish and other creatures in the pond as well.

The stork pretended to be kind and agreed. He told the fish,

“I will carry you to a new pond, one by one, in my beak.”

Every day, the stork would take a couple of fish in his beak and fly away. But instead of taking them to another pond, he would fly far away, land in a secret spot, and eat them! He did this many times.

The Crab’s Turn 🦀

One day, it was the crab’s turn to be carried to the new pond. As they flew, the crab looked down but could not see any pond. Instead, he saw a pile of fish bones on the ground!

The crab immediately realized what was happening. Furious, he used his sharp claws to grab the stork’s throat tightly.

The stork struggled to break free, but the crab held on tightly. Soon, the stork fell to the ground, lifeless.

The crab then crawled back to his pond and told the other pond creatures the truth about the greedy stork.

Moral of the Story 📖

➡ Greed will always lead to destruction.

➡ If you trick others for selfish gain, you will eventually face the consequences.
