Sonu, Monu, and the Ringing Doorbell
Sonu, Monu, and the Ringing Doorbell
One afternoon, Sonu and Monu were in a playful mood and decided to have some fun by pranking others. When everyone was taking their afternoon nap, they quietly sneaked outside and rang the doorbell of their neighbor’s house before running away.
The neighbor opened the door, but to her surprise, no one was there. She looked around and then shut the door.
Giggling, Sonu and Monu repeated the prank. But this time, the neighbor got angry. She opened the door and shouted, “Who is doing this mischief?” She banged the door shut in frustration and went back inside.
“What fun!” Sonu laughed.
Little did they know, Grandma had been watching them all along. Instead of scolding them, she decided to teach them a lesson in her own way.
A Lesson from Grandma
The next day, Grandma told Sonu and Monu, “I am going out to buy some things, and your mother is also not home. Remember, do not open the door for strangers.” Saying this, she left.
Sonu and Monu sat down to watch TV. After some time, the doorbell rang.
Monu turned to Sonu and said, “Go open the door, maybe Grandma is back.”
Sonu got up and opened the door, but—no one was there! Confused, she closed the door and returned to the TV.
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang again. Sonu looked nervous. “Who could it be?” she whispered.
Monu, trying to act brave, said, “I’ll open the door this time! You’re such a coward!”
But when he opened the door—again, no one was there. Now Monu was scared too. He quickly shut the door and ran back inside.
“Ding-dong!”
The bell rang once more. Now both Sonu and Monu were trembling with fear. Suddenly, they heard the sound of keys turning in the lock. A shadow appeared near them.
Sonu and Monu hugged each other tightly, too scared to move.
Then, they heard a familiar voice.
“What happened, my dear Sonu and Monu? Why do you both look so frightened?”
It was Grandma!
Hearing her voice, they ran to her and hugged her tightly. Tearfully, they told her everything.
Grandma smiled and said, “Yesterday, you both did the same prank to the neighbor. Now you know how it feels!”
Sonu and Monu realized their mistake. “We’re sorry, Grandma. We won’t do it again,” they promised.
But wait! Who was ringing the doorbell?
Yes! It was Grandma all along, teaching them a lesson in her own way.
Moral of the Story:
Never prank others because one day, the same might happen to you!
