Sonu, Monu, and Grandma – Story No. 4

It was summer vacation, and Sonu and Monu had holidays. During these holidays, they spent all their time watching TV and playing video games, day and night. Whenever their mummy asked them to do their work, they would say, “We will do it later. Right now, we are watching TV.”

One day, their mummy told them to clean up the mess they had made, but as always, they ignored her. Sonu and Monu had become too lazy to do their chores.

Grandma, who was at home, saw everything and decided to teach them a lesson.

The next morning, when both kids woke up, they brushed their teeth and were ready to eat breakfast. They sat at the dining table, waiting, but nobody came to serve them food. They went to check the kitchen, but their mummy wasn’t there.

Sonu and Monu became grumpy.

Sonu and Monu: “Mummy, where is breakfast? We are hungry!”

Grandma: “Mummy will cook later. Right now, she is watching TV. If you’re hungry, go and eat something from the kitchen.”

Sonu and Monu went into the kitchen and drank milk.

Later, Monu wanted to wear his favorite shirt, but he couldn’t find it in the messy cupboard.

Monu: “Mummy, I want my favorite shirt! I can’t find it.”

Grandma: “Mummy is sleeping. You have to search for it yourself.”

Monu got tired of searching and had to wear whatever he found.

Sonu: “Where is my doll? Mummy, can you help me find it?”

Grandma: “Mummy is taking rest. She will do it later. If you want it urgently, go and find it yourself.”

Sonu searched everywhere but couldn’t find the doll because of the mess they had made.

Finally, Sonu and Monu understood their mistake. They went to Grandma and said, “Sorry, Grandma!”

But Grandma told them, “You should say sorry to your mummy because you disobeyed her and hurt her feelings.”

Sonu and Monu ran to their mummy and said, “Sorry, Mummy! We will never disobey you again. From now on, we will do our chores.”

Moral of the story:

Never disobey your parents, and always do your chores without being lazy.
